Unbrowsable Hosts

Hi,

Any idea what's up with hosts that I can't browse? When someone is downloading from me I like to browse their files to check if they are really sharing. Most are unbrowsable (they get searched and then the search disappears).

Why is this?

Also I have been noticing downloads of the same files from multiple hosts simultaneously. As if someone is using multiple computers to get one file (makes me nervous). This is more than chance happening.

Also, just today when I kick someone off from downloading, a couple of the hosts popped right back up (in a microsecond). The last of these was a Bearsharer. Maybe they both were. Very annoying.

Am I being paranoid here? I really don't want to share with leechers.

I'm on limewire 4.8.1 on mac x.

I think you may be just a tad paranoid.

With millions of "G" network clients, it is quite possible to have multiple u/l going at the same time of the same file.

I once d/l a file from a dialup host I believe. After I checked the file and put it into my sharing folder. I had 10 u/l going at once on the file. It must have been popular.:D

There are some that don't like leechers, and I am among them, but we all started with very few files to begin with and slowly build our libraries. If they are a legitamate "G" network client I leave them alone.

The only times I have removed a host is when they start bumping other hosts to get ahead in line for the u/l. Normally none "G" network clients.

Yes some will automaticly reconnect especially if your the only host with the file. It can be annoying at times I agree.

There may be many reasons why you cannot browse a host for example if they are firewalled, or if they have chat disabled it makes it rather difficult. It doesn't mean they are not sharing.

I am talking about unpopular files. This was sort of a side issue here and it's not a big deal to me (but it's odd when there are several people downloading the same file, and then go to the next file in unison). It may be that it's a new file....

Regarding the browsing other people: I don't mind people who have no files because they are new. I do mind people who don't keep files in the shared folder. No one has no files to share.

I mind more the people I attempt to browse but whose files I am not able to browse (the tab simply closes). Is this due to firewalls? If so, are they sharing? If it's not due to firewalls then is it a purposeful thing? I.e. why can't I browse these people.

I also really don't like people whom I can browse but whose files won't download (waiting for busy host or need more sources). Why is this? Is this a firewall issue also?

I really don't want to share with anyone who has chat disabled. :)

You share, that's cool. I just don't like the idea that i'm being monitored or download tested if that exists. I don't want to deal with anyone who is hiding something.

Sometimes when chat is disabled I can't browse the host (the option isn't there). Other times I can still browse the host. Any idea why?
