Launch Program Problem... I have read various threads and resolutions to starting the program. I t has been working great and now it just loads up the splash screen and within 10seconds the whole program shuts down!! What is going on...anyone have a good solution. I have uninstalled, re-downloaded and reinstalled the program but no change! Please help.... |
Try Fixes for Limewire Hold down Control-Alt-Delete keys & open Process Manager & see how many times limewire is listed. It there's more than one then kill both processes. Then uninstall them. For LW 4.4 or above just go to Start menu>Programs>LW>Uninstaller. For earlier versions use your Add/Remove Programs Control panel to remove LW. Downld & save both the Java & LW installers to your comp. Then install .. don't install over the net. Reboot after installing LW. |
Thanks...i tried that and i seem to have the same problem...the program begins to load and when it enters the downloading screen...it just closes! Is this a new problem that others seem to have too? Please advise. Thanks |

So you tried deleting the LW preferences folder (see fixes for LW)?? If you are sharing a lot of files (over 500), & these are in multiple folders, then move some files out of these folders if possible. Go to LW's incomplete folder & list it by size. Delete all those at 0 KB (later after opening LW you should click on top of Progress column to list all files by % & then delete those at 0%. Your problem has got me stumped. I'm tending to think it's a Java issue. Do you have a Registry Cleaner b/c your system might need it. Also make sure the HDD's not fragmented. |
