dodgy "adult" files

Please help as I am really worried

I recently downloaded a few adult movies (no sin) through the program. My shock was that some of the content was involving minors, this is not was I wanted to download at all. Luckily I was able to preview as it downloaded so I immediatly cancelled the file and trashed it. I am now seriously worried that the police are going to be knocking at my door. Please help/advise me. it has totally turned me of using the program as I never want anything like that to happen again.

Unless the police have other reason to search your computer, you have nothing to worry about.

Yea but you hear so much stuff about police tracing peoples ISP's e.c.t - It's shocking that when you think you are downloading a legit file ends up being something else.
There are so many dodgy keyords attached to the most normal file that you are constantly at risk of recieveing something illegal. Don't get me wrong, I personally don't think there is anything wrong with legal pornography, but when a file is downloaded and it turns out to be a really dodgy video then you start to worry. I suppose to some extent it comes with the territory - in that if you download porn then you are more likely to get such a file.

But what is really worrying me sick is that I don't want these files. I want them no where near my computer & don't want to end up getting banged up for posessing something that I never inteneded to download. I would presume and pray that the authoroties are concentrating on the sources of the files and the sharers who share them out, not on who downloads them. Fair ebough if you then go onto to share them, but I'm really sh*tting it because I had started to download such a file. Even though I dleted it immediatley it still really worries me

Greetings *Just Visiting*

I understand your concern and worry. I purchased window washer by webroot just for instances like you have described.

I have not had any problems with the program and I believe it was a worthwhile investment.

Thanks for your replies - I am just getting really upset and paranoid that big brother is now watching my every move and there will be a knock at the door soon. I wish I never used the bloody thing!

Thanks Fabion,

From your post you sound like you have had the same experinece - I'll try it out.

Do you think I have got anything to worry about? I mean it was a mistake, but don't suppose that matters in the eyes of the law, they should be targeting the people that make the stuff and freely distribute it. Have you heard of police arresting people who have been in a similiar situation?

I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about at all. All you have to go off is the title and any file can be purposley mis-titled for all sorts of reasons.

I think the authorities can differentiate between any accidental - purposeful infingement.

O&O do a secure erase program which can also go over your "empty" disk space securely overwriting any files that may be there.
