Songs in library moving

Lately, songs in my library have been moving around and changing their position in the list. It seems impossible to move them up or down manually, i.e. the 'click and drag' method, so it's quite frustrating.

Has anyone else had this problem, or know how to stop it?

greetings Cosmonaut

You didn't provide much information to go on.

There may be several causes for this. 1. as your d/l complete they may be moved to your shared folder, and this may cause your files to move. 2. when you restart LW it may re organize your shared folder. 3. worst possible situation you may have a virus.

read the forum rules at the top of this forum for what information is needed by members to better assist you.

You can organise files in the library folders by clicking or double-clicking on the top of the column bars. eg: if you click name it will arrange them alphabetically. If you click size it will arrange them by size, etc. There's other methods of arranging songs in the library but that means using a different player (iTunes.)

There is nothing else to know; a download finishes, it goes to the library. It's happening commonly to certain songs if I download an album track-by-track. I'm aware that songs can be ordered, i.e. alphabetically, via buttons within the program, but I want them in order of download.

I'm bewildered.

This might not be what you wanted but just a suggestion. How about this: iTunes shared library But it'd mean you'd need to import them into iTunes 1st which is quite easy (eg: drag & drop.)

So you're assuming that I have iTunes? ;)

I do have iTunes and I know that rearranging files in its library is easier. I'll do that, but would still like to know what the problem is with Limewire.

If it's of any help, after I renamed a file yesterday, it moved itself. It's in order of download by default, too. It's quite sensitive.
