LimeWire Pro identified as adware/spyware by Acronis "Privacy Expert Suite" (what a mis-nomer that is!). See this thread for details: Wilders Security thread . Pete |
This has been discussed many times, search the forum. Trust only adware, spybot and maybe microsoft anti-spyware tools. The crap ongoing in your thread link is lame -- there are many morons there. Ciao |
lol! I wouldn't have put it quite like that (but whatever works!). I think that at the very least, LimeWire's developers ought to light Acronis' *** up with some email about this. In the meantime, all LimeWire users' could definitely make sure that - on all the forums that they visit - any mention of Acronis' products is met with a scathing denunciation of them (link them to the thread I posted above). Pete |
Hmm what about encouraging antispyware devs that know what they are doing? There is need for a gazillion antispyware apps, only 2-3 to ensure good competition. Never heard of Acronis before and I'm sure nobody cares nor should care about a company not able to detect true spywares  Ciao |
Just saw that you are lame, what is the purpose of this stupid zeropaid thread?  http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=28984 Hmm are you actually a FUDder? We don't care about Acronis!!!! |

One would think that both the LimeWire users and the developers would be just a touch irritated that the program that they use/develop is being classified as "adware/spyware" by any "anti-spyware" vendor when it's most definitely NOT. I posted this in several places, certainly. Why wouldn't I? Just because you've apparently never heard of Acronis doesn't mean other people haven't - or that one day they might not decide to purchase one of Acronis' products. I certainly don't want anyone to rely or spend hard-earned money on a program whose developers won't listen to facts - do you?? I really don't understand your attitude (nor appreciate it, when I'm trying to help LimeWire users/developers correct mis-information about their program). Perhaps plainly-written English isn't your strongpoint. Because that's about the only reason I can come with as to why you'd mis-understand the thrust and purpose of this post. Have a nice day. Pete |
Obviously you missed it all. I saw your slyck.com post too. It only seems as acronis advertisments. Everyone knows that only a few antispyware tools are effective, the others are only giving you a perception of security and some even install their own spywares. Let that damn poor product die if they can't identify the junk, that's all. And yes, nobody ever heard of that program, it does not need a publicity -good or bad- stunt. Ciao |
How you can consider a warning by me to avoid the purchase of any of Acronis' products due to the crappiness of their programs to be any kind of "acronis advertisements" is totally bizarre (not to mention incorrect). But that's okay - I'm sure everyone else understood. Later. Pete |
