Friendly advice to the people who rip CDs into mp3s and share them in Limewire

If you rip CDs into mp3s and share them in Limewire, then you rock!! You make P2P networking better by contributing. (If you just leech and don't share files, then you suck! *insert "You suck!" smiley here*)

However, I want to give an advice to the people that rip CDs into mp3s and share them in Limewire to please encode them in a satisfactorily high quality. Audiophiles/experienced users probably already know what 'high quality' is.

If you are a newbie in CD ripping into mp3s this should help get you started in making high quality mp3s:

First, you will need:

1.)CDex - CD ripping program (about CDex)
Latest version of CDex (ver. 1.51 as of now), from the CDex download page

2.)LAME - Mp3 encoding engine
latest LAME stable bundle from the Rarewares MP3 page (ver. 3.96.1 as of now)

3.) For Windows NT/2000/XP only:
Nero’s ASPI manager, wnaspi32.dll [skip this if Adaptec’s ASPI layer is successfully installed]

And then proceed here for a concise, step-by-step guide to use CDex to rip CDs to high-quality MP3 and portable MP3.

http://www.users.on.net/~alexanderino/cdex/

From the above link: "In keeping with CDex’s philosophy, this guide strives to be straightforward and easy to use — in other words, maximal quality with minimal effort."

Now go and rip those CDs and share them in Limewire! Make P2P networking better! :)
