Sooooo Fed Up

JUst airing my fed up-ness. An hour or two back I was in Preferences and inadvertantly clicked on Restore Defaults, and this resets everything including your music library. There is no warning.... no second chance. just a statement of fact that your whole b.... thing will be reset at the next start up.
If like me you use itunes and a Mac and probably if you use anything else, you might be wishing that Limewire would make it possible to share an itunes playlist if you are unable or unwilling to share your entire music collection, as otherwise it takes AGES to load your shared items back again!!! You might also wonder why it is so easy to really **** up using limewire, which, by and large, is totally excellent.
If you catch the drift of what I'm saying Thanks for listening End of total fedup-ness.

This is no fault of LimeWire's. YOU clicked the button to restore the defaults. Please don't go messing around if the preferences if you don't know what you are doing! If you do, don't come here and bitch at us for fu|cking something up.

Oh come Mr Blue That was a bit harsh. A guy makes a simple mistake ... anyone could do it, the restore defaults button is right next to the OK button. Seriously though, I would like Limewire to fit a warning , so that if you click restore defaults, it asks "Are you sure?" After all it asks you before you delete files from the library. Have a nice day!

Look, the simple truth is that your problem is NOT a fault of LimeWire's. And it's not like your problem is very difficult to correct either. Just tell LW what folder to share again and walk away for a bit. I understand that mistakes are made and that stumbling through the prefs is a good way to learn what the program can do. But, if you really think that this feature should be added to LW you can suggest it in the New Feature Request forum. Good luck.

He already suggested it several days ago, and Sam already replied positively.

It's a good suggestion.

Thanks Steif. You took the words right of my mouse, although it was only yesterday.
The point that made me just a little fed up, was that with my set up, and I appreciate that each set up may be different, I do not wish to share all the music in my iTunes folder. I have to add folders by artist, and unless I have missed something, I have to load each folder individually. It does not seem possible to select a clutch of folders and load them all at once, making the "Walk Away" option a no goer. It has, I notice, been suggested in New Features that Limewire incorporates a sysem which would allow loading shared items by iTunes playlist, in the same way that it is possible to load an iPod. It would be excellent if they could.
The Hobo..... running Mac G3 B/W OSX 10.3.9 iTunes 4.7.1 Limewire 4.8.1 pro.
I had iTunes 4.8 but downgraded in an attempt yo get my daughter's mini-iPod to work, but that's another story!!

Actually, I rather enjoyed your "fedup" post, and was glad to see Sam's reply.

I know what you mean by the itunes folder structure. I gave up trying and just avioided sharing the whole itunes music folder rather than navigating and sharing all those folders.

Anyway, rkapsi is the guy you want to watch. He coded the iTunes/Mac integration and is the one who knows best how LimeWire and iTunes interact. He has been thinking about how to get LimeWire to just share a particular iTunes playlist, but it's not that easy and he's pretty busy. Still--there's hope.

Cheers.
