whats up with random unrelated files?

i'm new to this...so im sure there's a simple solution to what i have going on.
i type in a search for a particular file..and get thousands of files that have nothing, not a single word, in common with what i typed in. for instance, i typed in the title of a music video i was looking for, and got literally hundreds of music videos, none of which had anything in common with my title, before i stopped the search. i felt like it was just going to list off for me all of the available music videos. i typed in " a fine fine day" and got "tool..parabola" as well as eminem, nin, and a plethora of other videos.
what am i doing wrong?

i had already been there. it doesnt answer the question. i enter the inormation it says to enter, where it says to enter it, and i still get an unlimited and unrelated HUGE list of videos. i'm not kidding. hundreds of them and none of them even remotely connected to what i asked for. so i'm obviously doing something wrong. but yeah, i've been to the userguide.

See if using the "any type" search box, with one or two search terms and the filetype extension makes a difference.

For example "blah blah .mpg"

I'm not sure why, but the audio or video search types can get more seemingly unrelated files. Probably enough of the "hidden" criteria matches the results so that the returns don't seem to match.

You are not doing anything wrong. That's what usually happens when you search for videos, it seems to give you all the files that contains each of the keywords you typed.

What I do to avoid being flooded with unrelated files is to type the artist's name instead and later on locate for the title I'm looking for

OR to get more specific results choose the type of file from "select type" (e.g. videos), in the title box type the title AND artist's name if you are looking for music videos
:D
