unable to cancel

How can I cancel Limewire? I have sent several e-mails, but only get offers for tech support. I am within the trial period, and I want to cancel, but apparently Limewire won't let me. How can I cancel?!

If u don't want to use LW then go to the start menu>Programs>Limewire>uninstall & choose this to remove LW from your computer.

If you'd prefer to stay with a single version then save the installer to your computer & then copy it to an external device such as a cdr/rw, etc.

I know how to un-install LW, I don't know how not to be charged the membership fee.

There is ONLY one place to obtain LW pro which is http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml so if you got it elsewhere then you don't have LW Pro but a .... version. In future be careful. A single up front fee of $18.80 for pro & you get 6 mths updates.

I don't have LW Pro. I was charged $30 for the basic membership. The first thirty days are a free trial period. I downloaded from LW.

Another "Junior User" is scammed.

As LOTR said, there is no membership fee or free trial period. No wonder you get no replies to your emails simply because you got the free version of LW from a scam site, i.e. a site specifically designed to part the gullible from their money and give nothing back, you are in the "nothing back" stage.

Your best bet is to contact your bank or credit card company, explaining that you were tricked, and try and get your money back. Because you have not waited too long, you should be able to get a refund without too much difficulty.

One other thing, do not feel too badly that you were conned by the scam site, unfortunately you are not the first and you definitely will not be the last. In fact you are one of hundreds (if not, thousands) that are falling into the clutches of scammers (they have well over a hundred scam sites), scamming internet newbies is very big business.

Moreover, there are lots of people out there happily using their “free” copy of LW that they “purchased” from scammers, without having the faintest clue that they’ve been scammed. It is only when the newbies have a problem, get no response from the scam site (like yourself) and end up here. That’s when they finally realise that they have given their money away for something freely available.
