Playing DVD

I can download a movie and burn it at the slowest speed (2x) but I still cant't play it on a stand alone DVD PLAYER. Tried it on 3 different players and tried diffirent media ( Ridata, Kypermedia. It palys fine through my PC. Greatly appreciate any help.
