Can't Put Music on MP3 hey, i have been having a hard time getting music onto my mp3. It has always worked before when dragging music into my mp3 files but now it is saying: Cannot Copy: the disk is write-protected remove the write-protection or use another disk. It would be great if someone could help. Thanks, Derek |
Are these wma files? What brand & model of mp3 player is it? Upon re-reading this, disk is write protected huh! That's odd. Can you give us more details what you're trying to do? |
ok well i have an mp3 and when i plug it into the USB port a file pops up with all of my music on my mp3. To get music on my mp3 i normally just take the music from limewire and drag it into this file but now when i do it that write-protection thing pops up and it wont let me put the music on my mp3. I also went to Puretracks and got some music hoping it would go on my mp3 but that came up with the same problem, it was also a waste of 20 dollars. |

What type of files are they? Are they wma or m4a or ... ? One or more of the files may have been purchased through an online music store in which case they may have protection against sharing. |

Have you tried sending them to your MP3 player through your shared folder outside of Limewire..Just right click on the file and select send to E Drive...;) |

Try to rightclick on a musicfile that you were trying to copy and select properties. See if the write protect box is checked. Think you have to be logged in as an administrator to change it if it is. If that's not it What is the make and model of your MP3 player. Try using google to look up if there are others with the same MP3 player having trouble |

What brand & model of player is it? |
question too hey, just wana ask why i cannot copy also downloaded songs to my mp3. i used to have no problems until now. it says directly or file not created. wht do u thnk is d problem? tnx |
1. Try closing LW & then try copying them. BTW For fast & easy access, go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link) & the folder will open up for you. Then drag & drop them from there to your player. 2. Have you tried playing these songs on your computer 1st to be sure they play ok & have sound? Try it! ;) |
sigh, tried it but still d same msg.. hmm, wonder why. never had a problem b4. but thanks a lot. if u find any other possible problems, just post it here k? tnx soooo much |
So ... did the songs play ok on your computer? You have a habit of not answering questions. Same as Spiral harp. Unfortunately we on the gnutella forums do not have ESP capabilities! Though we wish we did for all the lack of info we're given sometimes. lol :D |
Why bother  |

Hi, im haviving problems with transfering my music to my mp3 player. Every thing went fine before, but now when i try to send my music over a message comes up telling me it can not copy or it can't fetch folder or file( translated from norwegian, not sure if i translated correctly). and this happens also when I want to transfer from a cd! Help me! Be good and help me!:P thanks Maysa |
Maysa It's really important that you (and others before you) also post the make and model of your MP3 player. There are thousands of different MP3 players around and what might have been the problem with some other brand may have nothing to do with your problem. Also you can try and use google to see if someone else has had similar problems (maybe at another forum). Just google make and model + "Can not copy". Or Make and model + directory. Or .... + copy file. etc. etc. BTW you don't have the little lock switch on as well ??? |
Ill try again hi again, im sorry that i didn't give the type of my mp3 player. It is a Creative MuVo tx. with IGB. Now i tried to google.. but it was not very successful. And the lock was not on. So I'll try again:D every time i try to send over my songs a message comes up telling me it can't fetch my file og folder. this message also comes up when i try to send over from a cd or songs i have stored on windows media player. help me, i love songs and i don't want it all to stop.. Maysa |
I have a creative as well, but I dont use the software it came with, it's a pain... Just try doing this sending them to your MP3 player through your shared folder outside of Limewire..Just right click on the file and select send to E Drive...;) |
me again hi, thanks for the advice but i already do that. but my stupid computer just dont want my music to get transfered:( is there any other advice anyone can give me.. ? Be so kind and help me;) |

Thank you :D Thank you so much!!!!!!!!! I did as you said, and arranged avery thing in foleders an deleted some songs, and guess what? I worked!!!:D Thank you! i can now add more songs to my mp3 player! Oh yeah! hehe.:D |
good to hear :) BTW I just typed muvo tx "transfer problem" into Google search. There was only one result ;) |
For all Mp3 Players, iPod's and PSP's. If you can't get music to play via headsets, but can via computer try this, always works: 1. Remove files 2. Unplug Device 3. In "Settings" find "Format" 4. Replug into USB 5. Add songs 6. Unplug If you have problem putting songs on, check available room, if full remove songs, if free contact manufacturer. |
