I always lose my connection

Hey people, whenever i log onto Limewire, the connection always goes strait to exellent, then after i've chosen the songs i want to download, it goes right down to connecting and will stay like that for the rest of the time i'm on it, or a window will come up saying - i either don't have an internet connection (which i do) or a firewall is blocking limewire from connecting (whatever that is) is there any way i can keep the connection at exellent or actually get a connection when its "connecting"??? please help guys, know you can thanx x
