i then relised the following points

1 i did not apear to have the pro version - ( i understand why now)

2 I could not view AVI files and when i tried to download any films it would not play

3 the orginal program with limewire is free

4 the credit card i gave has been billed a diffrent amount

i now dont know what to do i have got a refund minus or this is what they tell me £7.50 from the orginal scam company

do i need to down load the limewire again?
how do i get to play the movies i have downloaded?
is it worth paying more money out to get the pro version what are the extras you get?

Some advice

katesohm

First, I would delete all the rubbish you downloaded from the scam site because it could be stuffed with spyware and/or trojans.

Download LW or LWPro from here:

http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

I use LW Pro but you might want to familiarise yourself with LW first, that way if you don't like it you have not lost anything.

Finally, get the VLC media player, which I use along with WMP. I have found this player to be very good, it was recommended by members of this forum, and it can virtually play any valid windows media file thrown at it.

It is available from here:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Hope this helps

Unfortunately the site you gave money to is a scam, I got caught out as have loads of people! Unless you have done it recently and can get your credit card company to cancel the transaction i'm afraid you have lost the money. sites like that suck!!

you shouldn't have to re-download limewire but to get the pro version you do have to pay, this is NOT a scam its just how they afford to develop the software just makes sure you do it from the link within limewire.

playing the avi files I am still struggling with, I know its possible to download players that will but all of the websites look too confusing, the other option is to download the codecs.

To do this search the forum for avi viewer and you should get up a message with some links thats what im trying to do

happy sharing !! :)

hey i haven't got pro as yet because I haven't got the funds right now, but using limewire is easy and really useful and if pro makes things quicker then all the better! so i will be getting it when I can.

I haven't got my head around playing avi files either yet. I have tried the k-lite codec pack, VLC player (which I got audio but no picture) and h-play (which stopped me from previewing anything at all!) but I'm hoping that I will find something/someone in these forums that will give me the answers.

good luck and if you find an avi player please let me know!! :)
