Burnt onto CD but doesnt work on CD player First time user and finding it all a bit daunting but managed to burn MP3 music files (the only ones that download) on to CD but it only plays back on my laptop and doesnt play on normal music CD player. I was told MP3 files wouldnt burn onto CD but from reading threads on the forum it seems they will although as I say, I cannot playback. Can anyone help as to what I may have done wrong? I am using NERO as a CD burner |
is your cd player compatible with an MP3 cd? if its not, you will have to burn your mp3's to a cd using the Audio CD option instead of the MP3 CD option. |
Many thanks - it seems to work on some CD players eg in the car but won't work on the main one. I downloaded them as audio files so can't understand problem - maybe its just not compatible with my CD player although all shop bought CDs are. |
Some players (particularly older ones) don't like CD's burnt too quickly. Try burning at the minimum allowable speed to see if it makes a difference. Also some CD media is cheap & nasty. Get a reasonable brand & it will not only play on more devices but will no doubt last a lot longer. So it might cost a few cents or pennys more. But that's a small sacrifice. Find the brand & version of CD-R that your playing devices like! ;) |
