How Do Find My IP Number??

How do I get my Ip Number, to give to my friends?

in Limewire click on the arrow besite "what's New" on Search page Then Direct connect and all is revealed. Note that some peoples ip no changes fairly frequently.. mine does. Some stay permanently the same.

I'm surprised your ip doesn't show on LW when you select Direct Connect. If it's not there then it does suggest your firewall is not properly configured. And it should be if you wish to Direct Connect. Check your incoming in the bug test & see if it's true or false. If false then your LW is probably being partially blocked. Double-check the Sticky at the top of this section about Direct Connect about important points you should know. You can also use Magnet links to help connect to your friends & share files. Once they start downlding your magnet link you can browse them from the upld/monitor window & they can browse you from their downld window.

I got the impression he did not know how to select Direct Connect in the first place. It is slightly hidden away:cool:

Direct Connect search type is easier to find on the windows version LW. There's search type tabs. Whereas on mac it's a drop down menu.

Well ... we have to forgive those windows systems that try so hard to copy what the mac os does. They try ever so hard but always get it wrong. After all windows knew nothing about the icon system until they copied mac's ideas & were taken to court over it. Unfortunately M$ doesn't have many original ideas of their own! But they come out with something then brag about it in their adverts despite it never being their original idea. The only M$ original ideas are the bugs people continually get on their windows systems. lol :D DOH!

I guess that is why most of the world uses WINDOWS

Grandpa, I imagine MacDonalds is the #No I restaurant in the world. I'm not personally convinced it is also the best<G>

Have a great week-end!

Personally I do not know that windows is the best never used the rest so I cannot say. But I do believe that it is a personal preference issue every article that I have ever read by people who appear to be Unibus point out good and bad attributes of all OS and to date I still haven't seen where one OS is better than the other. And yes MS does have security flaws as does all other OS and people talk about how many compared to other OS.
One comment to think about. If I were a hacker and I wanted information I would imagine that I would try to hack windows since most of the world business use windows and therefore my odds of getting information would be far greater. Why would I waste my time on hacking something that at best might yield some individuals personal information. Any OS CAN BE HACKED from what I understand it is no more difficult to hack one than the other but the rewards are far greater for one than the rest.

And a good weekend to you Hobo

and that Grandpa is why, as well as loving my Mac to bits, (as they say in all the day time chat shows), I feel a lot more safe using it than I would a PC Really should get some sleep ... this looks more like a yawn to me so:o

Just for the laugh of it, name me one single Mac OSX virus. There are none! But as you said every OS has it's good points & everybody has their preferences. I'm not detracting from people's preferences b/c it's a silly argument & many will never be swayed despite the problems they may incur. Beside this has nothing to do with the original poster's question. lol :D

hehe, this reminds me of the "new" avalanche program/project that m$ has said they would put together (just another vaporware app) that copies off the logistics of BT, but is supposedly more "efficient" than BT's current implementation.
