Paying For Limewire Pro

 I have been using the free version of Limewire, and would like to upgrade. I have a Visa debit card, which is just like a credit card. Why won't the form I fill out for Limewire Pro accept the card number on it? Everyone else on-line accepts them. I keep getting the message "please enter correct credit card number" when I try, and I have tried numerous times.

Help!

I guess I should have stated this post in a question form.

Am I doing something wrong, or does Limewire NOT accept Visa debit cards?

Thanks so much for any input!

I do not know, Check with your bank there might be some limitations on you card.

Thanks for the reply! No, there are no limitations. As long as I have money in my account, I can use it anywhere I wish...as long as the store or company accepts visa debit cards. So I am wondering if Limewire accepts them.

Hi birca

As far as I know, they do.

You are trying to use it on the official site correct?

Here is the link.

Thanks fabion, but it isn't working. "Please submit valid credit card number" keeps popping up. Why can't we just ask the company? All it would take is a simple email to ask them about their own services.

using debt card

I used my debt card to pay for my software and it was not a problem at all. Does your card have the visa logo on it? I know some banks need to be aware of the internet transaction to prevent identity theft. I think there was check box for the debt card or credit card. If it still does not work then maybe you are not entering in all the numbers. what about the last 3 on the back of the card?

birca August 14th, 2005 10:59 AM

Yes, I entered all my numbers. And no I didn't forget the last three on the back of the card. I have bought numerous things on-line, and my bank isn't the problem. limewire won't accept the numbers on my card! I am so frustrated! But thanks for your help!

If they want us to buy their product, why do they make it so we can't troubleshoot directly through them? I am ready to just go to napster or something.

Credit Cards Only?

It seems that LWs payment form will only accept credit cards (see the attached jpg).

Mind you, because credit cards now have an anti-fraud facility it would be safer than using a card directly linked to your bank account.

card issue...

that is so bizzare. the only other option i can think of is that maybe you can get the pre-paid CC or contact the customer service to see if they can do it over the phone.
or maybe if you have a really good friend that has a valid card you can give them the money and use their card.
sorry i wish there was another way. good luck on your quest.
