Objectional material on Limewire

I just started using Limewire for about 2 weeks. All of a sudden when I am downloading very convential music (Fleetwood Mac, even Pavoratti) I get all this pornographic stuff as if they are songs. I will not try to describe, but trust me it's pornographic. How did this happen? Anything I can do to get rid of this.
I hope one of you moderators is reading this and can help me.
Thank you.

are you searching on "audio" only or searching "all types"? I've never encountered any porn when searching for just music!

I get this too!!!

I use any search....example Adobe or anything and i get a page full of WMVs that appear to be coming from the same server. I know other people getting the same thing. It looks like someone is hacking the Limwire search capabilities on the network.

Here is what comes up for the search: mac osx 10.4 server.
This same result happens for most searches.

Use your keyword filters. For windows you'll find it here LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Filters>Keyword & then add in .wmv & press apply. See sample image: Adding to your Keyword Filter.

P2P Networks

Dear Junior Members (especially those that get porn in their search results)

As LOTR says, you can do various things to filter out porn from your search results but you have to understand that, apart from your good selves, no one can stop this from happening.

The Gnutella P2P network has no central authority and no central server, it entirely consists of thousands of individually owned PCs and that you are at the mercy of whatever files an individual wants to share, no matter how strange. That also means that if you download offensive material by mistake there is no one to complain to, no switch or filter that can be turned on to keep this stuff out.

To learn more about the workings of P2P networks go to this web page:

http://computer.howstuffworks.com/file-sharing2.htm

Therefore, if you get a mislabelled file, pornography or any other objectionable material in your search results then reset your filters (both IP an file extensions) and try again, with practice you will get more of what you want and less rubbish.
