Anyone know the policy on getting my money back if i wasn't able to download anything?

Have you read any of the other threads or done a search of the forums or read the Limewire.com website. You cannot just come here and post headers like that without doing a bit of checking!

In answer to your question. The policy in absolutely no refunds. The reason for this is that if anyone is not quite sure about this product they can download the basic version for free for as long as they like.

There are a great many sites selling free copies of Limewire, and they are also, it seems, substandard ones.

I have a feeling you have been scammed by a site other than limewire.com and I'm sorry is you have. If you look through the forums you will find stickies on the subject.

get your money back off your credit card co. they should have fraud protection.

you are free to go to www.limewire.com and download the latest limewire (2 days old) for nothing and try i out. If you're not happy delete it end of story!

third time for me You haven't been around here long, unless you've been lurking, but the Legion of the Scammed has many members. I'm afraid some of us have answered so many of this kind of post, that we are not always that sympathetic.
The lesson to be learned is that no one should ever buy software like this online without trying it out first. It's like these people who get signed up by an "agent" who says they are going to be a big star, and find they have to pay the agent sign them up!

Anyway, I may have jumped the gun and 8675309 may be a bona fide purchaser of LW pro, I just don't think so.

so basically yes i bought the progrma without trying it. However, my roommate has ares which is what i was told i was buying then after the credit card number was out everthing changed to limewire. I downloaded it today (8/24) and its is version 4.8.1 (i think) and it won't connnect at all at the bottom of the screen with the connection bars it just continuously trys to connect.
I think it might have to do with my firewalls however i have read most of the help files and done all of that which has had no effect on the program's response.

Dude you have been scammed you should go back and read the link by lord of the rings the current version of LimeWire is 4.9.27 the version you got is pretty old and probally is corrupt. You did not get 4.8.1 form the official site it has not been available for a long time.

LW officially don't offer version 4.8.1 anymore. One reason you need to be careful of getting LW from scam sites is: 1. It may be bugged with spyware, adware, viruses, etc. 2. It might be a slightly modified version.
3. The money is not going to the LW development team. 4. The scammers may continually charge your card monthly or 6 monthly, or yearly, so beware! * You should cancel the transaction ASAP & explain to your card company it was a scam site & product.

Configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
