DivX movies only?
 

I downloaded a DivX player and now I can download and play the DivX movies. But are those the only movies that the DivX player can play, or can it play others;such as Xvid and any other avi files?

You can but you probally need new codecs. Go to www.freecodecs.com or www.theorica.net/codecs.htm for codecs. Get some of their packs for a good amount of codecs. DivX will play almost anything. Also use Windows Media Player. Good Luck!

Windows Media Player is proprietary software from microsoft, and as usual, by default will rip files to their proprietary format. i recommend winamp with all necisarry codecs. such as divx. divx should play any type of .avi file.

you can either browse them all and get to know the LW software alittle better, or you skip on down to the codecs part.
