Transferring Files

Hello all,

Please bear with me - this is my first time downloading music, and I`m a bit clueless.

I`ve downloaded lots of music, and want to transfer them to my MP3 player. They`re currently stored within the LimeWire library. I`m probably being totally stupid, but I can`t figure a way of doing this. I thought that I could choose the "Save As" option, but nothing seems to transfer over to either My Music (where my other tracks, transferred from CDs are kept), or to the MP3 player directly.

Any suggestions for a poor bearded technophobe?

Thanks,

Me

Transferring Files - Windows Media Player

Hello there,

Thanks for the suggestion! However, I`m still stuck, alas. I know where the Lime Wire tracks are in my directories (easily enough found), and can play them fairly easily. I use Windows Media Player for storing the rest of my burned tracks, and just cannot seem to get the LimeWire tracks transferred to it, no matter what I try. I can add tracks to iTunes, but still cannot transfer to the MP3 player.

In the first thread, there`s some advice regarding "choose Audio CD". Where can I find that in Media Player? Does that advice not apply for this software?

Any suggestions???

Many thanks,

Me

You need to be specific in what you're trying to do! If you mean portable mp3 player then RTFM. Otherwise if you're meaning WMP then see Using windows media player & use either the Add files or folder or search computer option ... see bottom of image to see what I mean.

BTW the default location for the LW downld folder is: C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Shared

As far as I can ascertain, the player comes with software. Else you can download the plug-ins for it for Musicmatch Jukebox and Musicmatch. See http://support.rca.com/subject.html?...revPageIndex=1

Choose your model & you'll find a manual for it & also FAQ's. Here's an example of one of the models as to how to transfer music: http://support.rca.com/doc/rca1339.x...revPageIndex=6

By default your LW downld files are stored here C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Shared
For fast & easy access, go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link) & the folder will open up for you. Then drag & drop, etc. as required to the player or another location.
