Ripped Off

My credit card number was illegally used to buy a membership on Limewire. I am trying to find a way to contact the company to find out the information of who the membership went to so I can provide the credit card company with the name of the thief. Does anyone know how to contact the company without having to first buy the software? Thank you.

they'd most likely use your name because if my name was john doe and yours is john smith. if i say yes my name is john doe and the card's name is in john smith's name, that would raise questions.

when my parent's had their card used overseas for some fraud, the people ordered like $2000 worth of stuff, so i wouldn't be too mad about a limewire download since your bank should be able to cover it. that's why the bank is doubting your claim because the person used your name.

No "membership" in Limewire

I would suggest that you go to the following thread in the open discussion forum:

3 Attachment(s)Sticky: Membership? - **WARNING ** BEWARE** - Download p2p Clients ONLY Thru Official Sites ( 1 2 3 4 ... Last page )

Limewire doesn't charge for membership. It is a free program. Someone probably joined one of the scam sites like MyMusic.com or any number of the same type. It happened to me and I had to badger MyMusic.com horrendously but they did give me a refund. Or, you can contact your bank or credit card company. They don't take too kindly to internet fraud.

Good Luck.
