Upgrade or not?

I'm currently using 4.8.1 Pro on a MAC with OX 10.4. Should I upgrade to 4.9 (non-pro)?
Is there that much difference/improvement to pay for 4.9?

I'm not a Mac user and I've never used Pro but I do have .28 basic version and I think that it's pretty good so far. Definetly better then 4.8.1. I use to have that one awhile back. As for a difference between Pro and basic I've heard both good and bad things. Some people think it's great and others regret going Pro.

I suggest you try it but KEEP your 4.8.1, on a separate drive or on disc .... just in case ........... I have to say I think pro 9.28 is better than basic 9.28 iMHO but Windows users seem to have problems with it.

The cost is negligble let's face it and I pay it mainly to support the development team, and they are worth it.

Which ones do Windows users tend to have problems with, the Pro or the basic? The basic so far has worked great for me.

Well, glad to report that I've upgraded to LW 4.9 Pro and the program seems to operate much smoother than the previous versions. Seems like features were enhanced, more control over display and the twitchy shutdown bug seems to have been fixed. As for payment, I'm with Hobo, it really doesn't matter, I consider it a donation to the development team, who are doing a great job, I might add...
