limwire basic (free)

i have downloaded the basic(free) version of limewire and i was wondering if it was legal in england or not? if any one knows if it is or not could they please post a replie

Using any software application is legal, it's the use you put it to that determines illegality.

So, owning LW basic or Pro (like I do) is perfectly legal but downloading or uploading copyright material without the owner's permission is not.
