Limewire pro

Can anyone help please? Yesterday i bought limewire lifetime and unlimited access for £18.97 and upgraded to pro with the movie codec pack for £7.97 and also netspyprotector for £7.88 that is a total of £34.82 which I have had an e-mail to confirm. Yet when I use Limewire it keeps asking me if I want to upgrade to pro ????? Now I thought I have already upgraded. Also when I try to get some support by phoning the usa it is stating they are closed (this was last evening when the office was supposed to be open, 5 hrs behind i believe) I am totally confused and feel a little cheated yet I am happy to admit if I have missed something here.
Please help guys and gals

Before you do anything, read this: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1
There is no lifetime memberships. You've been thru a scam site & probably only have LW Basic which is FREE. ;)

BTW you can get most codec packs for free. See CODECs list and alternate players for Movies And spydetectors are also free. Just ask for some links. You could've got all 3 items for free!
I'd suggest you try to get a refund ASAP & cancel your transaction thru your card company. Also see the last few pages of the link I gave in the 1st post, there's some advice how to do it. Where did you get your so-called membership from? Is it listed here?: Known Scam Sites

What is the situation with my credit card now??
Is it still secure??

Taken

Firemansam

Did you see the Speilberg series "Taken" that was on TV not so long ago, well Sam you have been "Taken" for a ride by a scam site.

LW Basic is free and LW Pro cost $18.88, which is under £10.00 at the current exchange rate, and for that you get 6 months worth of upgrades/updates. Netspyprotector is probably a bogus spyware app, the movie codec is free and the lifetime unlimited access does not exist.

Sam, you should contact your credit card company and tell them you have just been conned out of your money, since most UK CCs have anti-fraud protection, you should be able to get your money back without too much trouble.

Also, it might be a good idea to cancel your CC and get a new one, this will stop the scam site charging you a monthly fee for fictitious purchases or belonging to the non-existent lifetime club.

Finally, I would suggest that you delete the LW you got from the scam site, which may or may not contain malware (viruses, spyware, etc) and redownload from the proper site where LW Pro is also available:

PS. One other thing, don't let this bad experience stop you from buying goods and services via the internet, it may take a little time to suss out which are the good and bad companies but if you need any advice you can always get it here.

Cheers Bob.
I have bought plenty off the net for years and this time I was had. I will follow all your advice. I have spoken to the credit card company and they have said the transaction cannot be stopped but it can be dissputed when it shows on the statement (prob on Fri) I will uninstall limewire and try again.
Thanks everone for the help.
