Connection to Projector
 

Yesterday I downloaded a movie. I want to watch this on my projector but instead of going through all the hassle of burning the dvd's and buying all the eauipment I thought I could just connect my PC to my DVD player and watch it that way. I bought a VGA Monitor cable and when I connected it my DVD player started to smoke. Why did that happen???? So I have a PC (windows XP) that I want to connect tomy DVD player which is connected to my Projector. Anyone who knows how to do this needs a gold medal but can anyone help.
