Limewire Pro - didn't work

Can anyone help me? I signed up to use Limewire Pro, my credit Card was charged, I entered the e-mail address I thought I used but I can't find anyone to contact to find out how to get it. If anyone can help it would be great.

thanks

a tip

if limewirepro costs money then why do i find it at search in limewire. and you can download it for free.???

mtntravler September 11th, 2005 04:08 PM

The free version is Limewire Basic. Pro costs money. Read the Limwire website. It'll give you the comparisons.

mohannad_7 September 12th, 2005 01:42 AM

no no

i can download the pro from limewire you just search for it , so try and you will beleive.

mohannad_7 September 12th, 2005 01:45 AM

something

once i searched google for it and i found the megaupload site where i download it for free, and megaupload is like a sharing web-site, like limewire.

Sphinx September 12th, 2005 01:57 AM

Ummm, Limewire Pro IS a 'PAID' program and can only be obtained legally by the offical site. If you dl it from somewhere else you will most likely end up with a hacked/bogus or a corrupt version. Pro IS NOT available for free.

mohannad_7 September 12th, 2005 02:01 AM

no it is

i did download limewire pro for 5 times by now, but the thing is that you cannot update it. i just search for it again and someone will be sharing the new version. you can beleive me if you direct connect to ***** and you will see. but i don't recomend you to download anything because it could be a virus and my computer is already infected.

Sorry can't advertise ip's on the forum

Sphinx September 12th, 2005 02:12 AM

No It Aint!

If you're not pulling my leg, then I strongly suggest you clean your computer with an anti virus program ASAP! There is nothing wrong with the free Basic version of Limewire, it works just as well as the Pro and does the samething. Seriously go get a free anti virus cleaner or you'll find yourself screwed.  What people are doing is sharing a virus NOT Limewire Pro!

edited to add the link: Uninstall whatever that is on your computer and go get the free, basic version and you will be better off:

www.limewire.com IS THE ONLY PLACE to get the offical Limewire software.

Good luck, over and out.

mohannad_7 September 12th, 2005 03:32 AM

beleive me

the pro has the chat, fast download, and impossible for a download to stop or fail to download. i had the basic version and it is very slow...

mtntravler September 12th, 2005 03:43 AM

Basic has chat too and no, Pro is not incapable of failing to download something. I used to have it, and it really depends on the computer who is uploading the file whether a file finishes. It might have some faster download speeds and better search results however, basic is almost as good.

Im still kinda here Hobo, but not as much as my help according to the admins is not wanted. Im not allowed to chit chat on here according to Lord Of The Rings and wont be offering anymore of my socalled wrong advice, so, no problem. ;)

mohannad_7 - dont you realize that what you're using is a hacked version that contains a virus? You'd rather use that instead of Basic which is virus free just because you think its downloading faster? You'd gladly keep a virus on your system just so you can download?

I have downloaded the version for limewire and installed five times over, but the darn thing still will not start up. I have installed Javascrpting and uninstalled LimeWire and reinstalled it and it will still Not Work. It is frustrating me and have to get it back because I had to do a systemrestore.

Thank You

Did you get it from: www.limewire.com? if not and you paid for a fake Pro from some other website then you got scammed.

I even updated the basic version thats out now and have had no problems. In fact, since I installed the latest version, I'm at my top speed.

I suggest you email the company you bought the software from to get your money back.

nightlord September 15th, 2005 11:53 PM

mohannad_7 is right!

i looked into this and its all good. I searched programs for LWpro and it came up straight away, so i took the risk and DL it. It worked and none of my 6 virus detectors found anything sus! I hope this helps put the debate to rest. Im just wondering why I paid US$30 for the standard LW.....Think i got ripped off there...oh well s**t happens, at lease I got PRO for nothing.
Thanks for letting me in on this little secret mooo.

Only A Hobo September 16th, 2005 02:11 AM

No doubt Limewire Devs will know of a way to prevent copies of LW pro that are unofficially obtained, being used. or maybe they'll spend the next six months trying to work out away and neglect the real job of developing LW further.

Why the *** this thread got driven in the direction it did is beyond me. Mohannad: you suggest getting LW off an unnoficial site. You admit you have a computer riddled with viruses. Can anyone see a connection between those totally independent????? facts.

Mahannad I think you also said you have a computer shop or something, for all I know you could work for the RIAA.

Your advise has been totally irrespionsible in this, and other threads on the same subject.

Limewire and the web in general are riddled in viruses, yet you are suggesting that we add to them and not try to stop them. Please come back with the sensible comments you have but lay off this subject because it's usefulness is zero

YES THERE ARE A FEW PROBLEMS WITH LIMEWIRE PRO INSTALLING> If people are having problems, there are enough archive posts and helpers on here. Lets have the problems explained properly and hopefully sorted without the risk of adding more garbage/viruses to the gnutella network.

ukbobboy01 September 16th, 2005 12:18 PM

Heather (dancingmoon_35)

You said, in one of your posts, that you can't get LW to start and you have done the following:
Quote:

I have installed Javascrpting and uninstalled LimeWire and reinstalled it and it will still Not Work.
I would like to point out that JAVASCRIPT AND JAVA are two different things, if, as you say, you have loaded Javascript onto your PC then LW will not work.

You need to load JAVA (Ver 1.5 or 5.0), which is available from the SUN web site:

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

The page is somewhat confusing but there is enough info to help you to find what you want.
