I am really confused will some one please help me? About three months ago I urged my mom to get me Lime Wire. She gave me her debit card number and I filled out the information on the website. When the order went through it gave me link right away to download Lime Wire. I did and saw a message which read update to Lime Wire Pro, I thought nothing of it. Well a couple of weeks ago I discovered lime wire can be downloaded for free off of the site, so now I’m wondering what I paid the $18.88 for? I am really confused will some one please help me? |
There is an ad-supported free version of LimeWire and a Pro version of LimeWire. Almost the only difference between the two versions is that the Pro version is not ad-supported and LimeWire will provide customer support. The programs work almost the same. Pro is mostly for those who like LimeWire and want to support the developers and further development of the program. I hope that this has answered your questions. deepblue |
but I already paid 18.88, is that just for basic service? or do I have to pay another 18.88 for pro. I dont think i have pro because every thime i log in it ask me to update to pro? please someone help |
When you bought Pro you should have been directed to a personal download page. If not, you can use the information you used the sign up for the service and enter it here to retrieve the page. Make sure you bookmark it this time! deepblue |
No matching records found. Did you enter the full email address? this is strange |
You should have recieved a reciept for it in the email account you provided. Are you sure that you downloaded LimeWire from the *OFFICIAL* website? There are a lot of scam sites out there... deepblue |
I didnt order from the main page, I think I bought it here, its been a long time I think I ordered it here YES this is the site and i remember, I paid 34.95 with a money order and the only thing i recieved was a limewire link. whats going on? |

I new it, is there any thing at all I can do, I was 17 and used my moms number without her permission. would this help? |
The only one who can do anything about it is your mother. You should probably tell her before she finds out . They may be charging things to her card and ripping her off. It would be better to tell her what you did than have her loose all her money. |
damn, i always thought people would do whatever they had to do to get something for free instead of paying for it. research is a necessity on the net. thats what its intent was. (and to create a redundant super-network) |
Hey Ultracross The poor kid (Black_Hawk223) let his enthusiasm get the better of him, unfortunately his mother could still be loosing money because the scam site could be extracting small monthly amounts for fictitious purchases. Black_Hawk223 You will admit that what you did was wrong, handing your mum's financial info over to scammers, but, as Grandpa said, own up to it now so that your mother can stop a potential financial haemorrhage. Remember, the scammers don't care whether you or your family can afford it or not, it's just easy money for them (money for nothing). And the lesson learned, no matter how clever you think you are there are bigger, craftier crooks out there waiting to sneer the naive and gullible. And also, only deal with reputable companies, having a big flashy web-site and/or adverts doesn't mean the company is any good. UK Bob |
my point wasnt trying to be sarcastic or cynical in anyway. im just shocked (but not all that suprized) that anyone would hand over money without researching it to get the better deal (paying for something that is free and outdated). being wise about your money is one thing. but putting someone elses financial credit or the loss thereof in jeopardy without paying close attention to the risks without making smart decisions is very bad thing. this goes for everyone, not just him. but in the end, hopefully you learned, aswell as your mother, to not be so naive and trustworthy. i wouldnt let my child make any transaction without me doing it for him. and i certainly would want to make sure its going to the right place. :) goodluck getting a refund and restoring any credit lost. |
Agreed, I should have been more on tiop of my game on this one, however my refund is in the mail, thanks for introducing me to the word of scam. |
