It's not that people are too stupid to think it through. I, too had someone assume that I was a man;) and I mearly told them that I was a woman so they would know next time. I didn't give them attitude because they called me a man... that would be stupid.

CS I think that's the point . That person who assumed you were a man was probably too stupid to think it through. but I'm sure you set them straight most poitely :)

The English language has some phrases / words that are intended as male but are used as general descriptions when spoken.

If I approach a couple of females at work the way that I greet the is hey guys how are you doing today. Or if I am directing my crew as to what I want them to do I will say Sphinx, CyberStalker, Lord of the Rings I want you guys to do this today.

To me calling a gal a guy in these type of situations has nothing to do with being male or female. It is just a way of including all of my friends and coworkers in a unified group.

Thus when I am making comments or writing in the forum when referring to a group of people or person the phrase will be you guy's, hey guy, etc.

It may be politically incorrect but I really don't care.

Hell I am just Grandpa who cares anyway.

I agree with you, Grandpa.:) It's easier to say 'Hey guys' when talking to people.:D Then again, there are some people who don't seem to be familiar with slang terms.

Try un installing Java in the control panel add/remove programs. Then download manually installing Java then LimeWire. Save Java and LimeWire to your hard drive in My Documents or wherever you save downloads from the Internet. After you have saved them click on the installers Java first and install them.

Do not use the on line installers some people have problems with them save them to your hard drive. You can find Java in the first link and LimeWire in the second.

Spinx - leave your name like that. It's cool!
I thought so too, thats why I picked it. I have said plenty of times in the past I was a female. Never thought it would become a big deal on a forum. and, why should I go out of my way to advertise my gender? I dont see anyone else doing the same thing and with the way I spelled my name, I would have thought it to be more of a female nick than a male one. ;)

and I rolled my eyes because honestly, the orginal posters question deserved an an eyeroll instead of a true response.

no biggie, did we get that sorted now? :D
