Sorry to tell you this but Lw doesn't have a year long subscription. There is (1) Basic LW which is free and (2) Pro LW which costs $18.88US And gets you 6 months free updates but the program is good forever.
You can get either version here: LimeWire
You have been scammed my friend, but don't feel bad as you are not alone:Types of Membership?. Try to get your money back. Contact your bank/CC company and explain to them what happened. Or get hold of the company you purchased LW from and tell them you want your money back. Another good thread: get your $$$ BACK!!!(music members)
Good luck:). Let us know how you made out.

If you paid $30 for a years subscription, I regret you were scammed by a site which was not Limewire. This is happening all the time I'm afraid!

The Basic version of Limewire is free, and the pro version costs 18.88$US this gives better connection and six monthes of on line technical support and pro updates.

see: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

I advise you to down load the basic ... check all is working fine and then update to pro when you wish.

Before you install the new limewire, just check that you do not have any prefence folders for the old limewire on your computer. You could search the computer and the file or folder would be called .limewire I think if you use Windows. Any old preferences should in your case be deleted.

Normally Deleting the old preferences is not neccesary, but in this case it migt be wise.
