My dad watched some thing on the news and is now all paranoid about the legality of lime-wire. I keep telling him that it runs on a shared file system and that it isn't illegal to do this......he still doesn't believe me so i need u guys to help me out and tel him....

If you are in the US and you are downloading copyright materials then you Dad Is Right it is Illegal no if ands or buts about it.

from what I heard its still ok in Canada to download not sure about sharing. Limewire & Bearshare use the Gnutella network, which cant be sued but the users can. I have yet to worry about it but then again, I dont dl the top 40 and neither do I dl the other stuff. Share just under a 1000 files and dont draw too much attention to yourself and you'll be fine.

How would you draw attention to yourself through LimeWire? The only files that I have are some music videos, SNL clips and songs.

By sharing over a 1000 files or more. Im not sure if sharing in Canada is supposed be be ok or not though. I know for a fact that downloading is supposed to be ok but, for how much longer, remains to be seen. Rarely do I leave large sums of files shared these days. Im from the States and like to lay low on P2P.
