You've been scammed!!!! I would recommend immediately canceling the transaction thru your card company. You only have LW Basic because that's all they're offering. They are a scam site. The official site is here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

See these links: 1. Membership? - **WARNING ** BEWARE** - Download p2p Clients ONLY Thru Official Sites

2. Known Scam Sites , & 3. get your $$$ BACK!!! (music members)

Hi Lord of the Rings,

I've noticed the following advertisement when I go to VersionTracker.com. The only time I see it is when I go to the listing for the Opera web browser. Here is the link: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11156

I thought I would let someone at LimeWire know about this so they can look into it. Thanks.

If I can say "the funny thing is" that some of these scam sites send you an email to the membership page. I've had that sent to me by some people & I used any email addess I made up at the time & was able to get in. I haven't tried the one you mentioned Only A Hobo but I have contacted VersionTracker which is a very respectable downld site & asked them to lose the scam link. I just hope they follow up accordingly.

LOTR I think my fake address only got me to the page where I had to fork out my money Do you think I should have given them a fake CC number as well ... would that have bought me the goodies?

I too have E-mailed Versiontracker. I guess anyone can make a mistake, weren't here some dubious ads recently on Gnutelliums?

Still are ... I personally can't filter them out. Need to wait for the server owner to do that. Hasn't been seen for a little while so need to be patient. I report them.

It seems to be gone now. I don't know if my correspondence or others combined played any part.

LOL. Im sorry but this must be the best scam on the net! If you want to throw your money away on a fake LW, just send me 50 bucks and I'll give it to you. lmao. I cant believe people fall for this stunt?

You better cancel that transaction right away and change your cc number!!! there IS NO SUCH thing as a lifetime membership to any P2P app!!!! Not even Napster gies you a lifetime membership! go buy the music or software would be cheaper than shellingout money for something that doesnt exist.
