well...

i once had a hacked version of limewire and my computer got filled with viruses but after i knew about that i formatted my pc and got an anti-virus. and i downloaded limewire from www.limewire.com. and i noticed after a week that my pc is going slow and like very slow in processing. is it the cause of limewire because my pc is deserted and has nothing but a video and audio player, anti-virus, anti-spyware and limewire and nothing else.??is that the cause of limewire ??:(

Been using LW for over 18 months and have not picked up one bug yet.

Limewire is fine , but like a browser it depends what you download with it. If you take care you should have few problems. Look at the stickies abve the forum messages and look for those about viruses to learn more. Run an up to date virus programme and so on and If you are downloading something that should be 100 megabites don't think that if it is under 1 megabite that it is what you are looking for:)

Viruses & Trojans

Well Guys

I have been using LW Pro since May 2004 and I can say, without any doubt, that it is utter madness to go onto the P2P network without an anti-virus software and a firewall. After all, the network consists of thousands of individually used and owned PCs, and not everybody is going to be so conscientious to insure that their PCs are virus free.

You know, you guys seem to blame LW for your problems but LW can only download what you tell it to, so if you tell it to download a virus infected file then that’s what it will do. Plus, if you can’t even be bothered to download a free anti-virus app to protect your computer then who are you going to blame when you get infected with viruses and Trojans?

(Yeah, I know, lets blame LW:rolleyes: )

Use a little common sense and take responsibility for your own inactions.
