how to lookup and download a playable dvd movie
 

im having trouble finding dvd movies to download and watch on computer or to burn.... can u help? everything i download either are clips of movies or i can't launch it.

You probably can't play them because you don't have the correct codecs. Might I recommend VLC which is a player with in-built codecs, even if you only keep it as a backup it plays everything. You should see CODECs list and alternate players for Movies BTW all this information has already been supplied in the Sticky threads at the top of the sections of the forum.

For burning videos you need a burner program that can do the job such as Nero 6 or later or Roxio's easy cd/dvd creator. Else you get yourself a video converter.

Can someone help me with once I burn a video cd to be able to view it on my dvd player.....it plays on my computer but not in my
player?
And I can't seem to burn a video dvd...do I need to config nero to read by cd/dvd drive....

Make sure your set-top dvd player has the ability to play VCD's & DVD-R's. Some players are fussy toward brand also. As I recall you have a good burner.

For creating a movie dvd-r, make sure the format is DVD-ROM (UDF). Normally selecting DVD video in Nero will do this for you. If it's not UDF format, then very often will not play on a set-top dvd player.

When burning VCD's, burn them at minimum speed. Friends & myself had problems when burning at high speeds. But when burnt at minimum speed, the VCD's played fine.

I only have Nero 5 so I can't tell you the exact settings for dvd. (I do all my burning on mac for dvd's.) Are you using Nero Burning ROM or Nero Express?

Is there a site for downloading nero dvd rom trail version....
I tried nero ultra 6 download versions but didn't get the dvd rom part that was supposed to be downloaded and if I did I can't seem to pull it up....It's not listed under my programs, just the oem (i think)....
