So Bottom Line- is it Legal?
 

After reading the posts about paying for membership-which I did in the spring-28.00 for a lifetime membership through EZ-MP3's, and I spent a long time reading all of the info on their site, which seemed legit and PROMISED was 100% LEGAL; I am now wondering is it Legal or not? Ethicaly I feel as though I should get rid of Lime Wire if it is not legal to use (My opinion FOR ME) is it true that there was a judge that ruled that file sharing was legal? Or did I just fall hook line and sinker for the whole big lie??? Please let me know, because I thought I was downloading music within a membership that I paid for and it was compltely legal... thanks...BB

Firstly, welcome to the legion of the damned. You have been scammed, there is no such thing as lifetime membership to Limewire, the basic version is free, and the pro version is around $18.99 for 6 months. Whoever you bought LW through have ripped you off.
Depending on where you live, its not legal to dl copyright material.
LW is a Peer to Peer program, and as such they take no responsibility for the files shared on the system, well, except in the new version. It may be worth your while having a look at the stickys on page one for some better explanations than mine.

Thanks...So what do you mean by "depending on where you live?" if it's legal or not... and what exactly does Peer to Peer mean? and I suppose there was no judge who ruled file Sharing Legal as it states on TONS of music web pages... I have been reading the sticky's also...Thanks again...BB
