Continually launching ..... Help me!

I downloaded Limewire the other night for just a few downloads, with the intention to uninstall and delete it afterwards. When I had uninstalled and deleted it, it would keep trying to start up again and again. Every two minutes it seemed it would show the Limewire initialising logo in the centre of the screen and then come up with an error message, saying Limewire failed to start up and to re-install it.

I went through that process twice and the same thing kept happening.

After a while, I decided it was way too annoying for this message to keep popping up on screen and so I'd just keep Limewire installed, but not run it or let it get in the way.

Now, it won't go two minutes without Limewire properly starting up without any errors (I really should've seen that coming though, huh?) and it's really annoying me.

I've went through the options and made sure Limewire is NOT to automatically run upon start-up, but the problem isn't only happening on start-up, it's whenever Limewire isn't running.

So, my question is, does anyone have any idea what the matter is? Or any advice I could use to either: a) Uninstall and delete Limewire, once and for all, or; b) Keep Limewire installed but stop it from continually launching itself.

Like I say, this is really bugging me and I'd just appreciate any help on the matter if it seems obvious enough or anyone's ever had the same problem.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you have a virus. See point #4 here: WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of! & also LimeWire continually Popping up every few seconds & also Opening at System Startup

Cheers man, really appreciate that!

And apologies for not looking hard enough to find the thread that was quite clearly titled with the exact problem I was having.
