With some good info from Stief, I tried what he suggested but again with failure. Let's try again. When I select audio, enter the name of a song I want to download ( like Rocky Top ) in country genre then hit search, the words Rocky Top come up in the search term window. When the Lime stops turning, should there not be a list of music to selectic from to download? Here did the list of music I requested go and how do I get there? I need help with this problem. Thanks in advance from anyone who can get me past this hurdle. J.T.

You might have more joy not selecting a genre just audio. If that doesn't help , you may have a problem... let us know.

Still no luck with downloads. Have tried everything to see downloads after the lime stops but nothing is there. When I select audio, enter the name of a song I want to download like (Rocky Top) hit search, the workds Rocky Top somes up in the search term window. When the Lime stops truning, should there not be a list of music to select from to download? Where did the list of downloaded music I requested go and how do I get to it? This problem is starting to get me down. Please can, anyone help solve my problem. Thanks in advance.

P.S. How do I contact the person that is helping me. I would like to say thanks. J.T.

Thanks accepted Jerry... only I'M afraid I'm not helping a lot.!

I checked your song and got 597 results 146 classified as Country.

So We need to check you are connected, I suspect you are otherwise you should get an error message. At the bottom left hand corner of LW (Limewire) it should say "Excellent connection"

Check in options or preferences > Searching >Quality see that "All" is checked, Then go to Speed, again ...see that "all" is checked.

I'm not sure what help you had from Stief, but if you can give a link to the help ... if it was a forum post, then we'll be able to see what you have tried.

It will help to have details of your set up, in particular, if you have a firewall, and what sort of connection you have and who your isp is. plus any thing else you may think might help

Have you used Limewire before, or have you yet to see it in action?

Thanks for the tip Hobo. Sounds like Jerry's display of results isn't working, which may be a java install problem, a bad skin, or some Windows situation.

Jerry, try again with a "What's New" search (rather than keyword or Direct Connect)
If no results show in the new search tab after the lime stops spinning, you definitely have a display problem.

If so, use the view menu to switch to a different "skin" and try a search again. That should refresh the display.

If no difference, find out what version of java you are using: it's listed in the "About LimeWire" box, and also in the bug report example in the options.

I vaguely recall a similar problem a while back, but Hobo and I are using macs. I'll see if I can dig up a link if the above steps don't help.

(oh, and you can use the little magnifying glass on the search button at the bottom of any post to find all your previous posts).

Well if i might say, sometimes too specific requirements in a search gives less results than a general search. Try a Any type search.

If there's no results showing as Stief suggested might be happening due to various reasons. It might also be a window display issue. See the following links & see if they apply at all: See 1. Drag window paritition up (click on link) image example.
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=34497
Another 2 options: 2. Click on the small arrows on the LW main window. If that doesn't work click the other arrow. 3. Drag the partition up or sideways; see examples here: Example A (click on link) & also Example B (click on link) (click on arrows to show single window)

LOTR, do you recall something about needed to update windows drivers? I couldn't find the thread . . . so not sure if it relates. Cheers, and thanks for digging up the links to the window resizing threads.
