I dont know if i am posting in the right area but, I dont understand. What are the numbers for next to a file name (Between the quality and the file name) do they mean thats how many poeple have that file. If so then how can a file with 100 people say to me i need more sources for thta to download?? or does it mean that they were bored when making this program and thought we will put this number here to fool everyone into thinking that it will help if they choose this file. Someone tell me what is going on.

when you do a search, other hosts report back with the location of the file, and other alternate locations. You see the count of sources LW has been been told might have the file you asked for. The alternate locations are the least reliable.

If you look at your Library Pane, you can see the number of alt locs your files know. You also send those locations to others.

Obviously, alt locs go stale quickly, but they can help LW get started finding other sources.

If you are firewalled, most of those alt locs are going to be difficult to access.

Scammers also like this. They can report 100's of sources for their junk and make their results show up on the top of the lists. Still, we learn quickly which files to ignore ;)

So why is it in there if they can scam it. Ahh well

btw i didnt really insult ayone i didnt think just asking if they were bored. but thats by the by. So i can make any file say that it has mulitple locations??

I didn't really understand your other questions (the pronoun references were unclear to me) but, if you set up a network of a bunch of computers, I guess you could figure out ways to send out fake results.
