renaming files? (copied from Gnutella Lounge) New here so I think I posted this in the wrong place - here goes again - lol. I downloaded a file that said it was season 2 ep 4 of Lost but it was Season 1 episode 1! I added "NOT!" on the end of the file name to warn others that these aren't what they are supposed to be but now my previously "green" status bars are showing red even though people are still downloading from me. I thought that meant that I wasn't connected? I know I should probably just delete it but I thought it might stop others wasting their time on these bogus files cos there are a lot of them saying they are season 2 when they're not. I can't seem to preview video - it comes up with an error message saying "run out of memory" or something like that but they play OK once downloaded. So can you tell me if by renaming a file that's why I've lost the green status bars and are there rules about renaming things? Thanks for any help - I'm new to this. I'm using Limewire free version btw. |
There's no need to double-post as it's against the forum rules actually. See CODECs list and alternate players for Movies & also get VLC (has in-built codecs) as I suspect codecs is your problem. VLC makes a good backup player. Yes naming or incorrect naming of files can be a problem. Yes people can downld or you downld if your connection appears to go into the red. You could always rename it. You could also report it to Bitzi. How to use Bitzi Web Lookup ... |
