Can you give us a total desciption of your set up: 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) 2. How much ram? 3. Hard Disk space available? 4. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 5. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 6. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 7. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)? 8. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. 9. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. 10. Are you using other net programs such as playing games, or downlding anything? There must be a reason for losing connection consistently. Some things I might suggest is, don't resume all your files after opening LW. Let LW settle for "at least" 10-20 mins before using. Consider reducing your downld speed to 80 to 90% of what it is now. So if you get speeds of 45 KB/s, then reduce it to 35-40 KB/s. Go to Tools>Options>Speed & tick the option for Disable Ultrapeer capabilities & press apply. |

Hey, I had a problem after my windows automatically updated..if you haven't already, update your java. That's all I did and it got my lw back into service...good luck. Steve |
LW will appear to lose connection if you use the Resume/Find Sources function on all your files. This uses up the computer's & bandwidth's resources. Instead, if you're going to use this function, do it on just one or 2 at a time. Better ways of continuing downlds: See the following link & follow “ALL” the off-shoot links to find hints & extra skills to help: To continue files downlding (click on link) |
