Any older limewire versions available?

When I run the latest Limewire, it freezes my computer upon load up. Anyone know where I can find an older version of Limewire?

Go to www.filefront.com and do a search for Limewire. I downloaded version 4.6 and it seemed to be pretty good. Not sure about the version numbers, but I just went back a few versions. It seems like the developers either did away with the .limewire preferences folder or changed its location. So going back to an older version is the only way to fix the gnutella.net file.

Beware of the bogus versions. If it doesnt or didnt open then it could be a fake or a virus. One of my very first forum posts was a request for an older version, there really doesnt seem to be any out there that you can trust. I am clinging to my copy of .30 for dear life. Loosing an old install sucks because you cant get it back. ;)

I use Oldversion.com for old version of programs, and Limewire programs working fine, even the oldest one

You said you have LimeWire .30?

Sphinx October 20th, 2005 07:40 PM

4.9.30. which will forever be my last limewire upgrade. Im not keen on the new changes they are making.

Just one dumb question but why would you guys want to go back so far.

Uncle Che

As far as the .LimeWire folder go to C:/Documents and settings/User name/.Limewire it should be there unless you are using a hacked version and by the way from reading your other post I am going to make a wild guess and say you downloaded version 4.6 Pro from the Gnutella net at one time or another and you may have installed other versions over it. I don't know but the 4.6 version of Pro on the net is corrupt and has a bad .Limewire file in it.Thus every version you installed since then has used the corrupt .Limewire folder.

For myself, I miss the old features like the kill feature and how we used to be able to watch the file that we were downloading as it progressed in the library area, those features are now gone. you dont get to see the progress of the file unless you're downloading it.
