Help Accidental Delete i'm new to limewire, and when i was sharing folders i added a folder to limewire to share. i had second thoughts and decided to delete it. i didn't know it would delete it from my hard drive! i thought it would just clear it from limewire. is there any way to retrieve those files:confused: |
Assuming it's not in your 'bin' Don't make any new files!! I can't say whether there is a way - there used to be in Win 3.1, but that's years ago. So long as the files are intact. I'll have a look!!........ Right - I'm back. No luck - Why is it in these times of progress 'Recycle bin' we have lost the ability to un-delete a file- I did it with 3.1. There must be a way!! Anybody out there know??? What about the brainy boys!!! |
Some versions of Win 3.x had a program called undelete included with it. But unless you're using this dinosaur, that's not an option. You could use Norton Unerase, but unless you already have it installed, it won't do you much good. Installing the program would wipe out any chance of recovery, unless you can install it on a secondary drive, but it's usually after-the-fact (too late). Someone else there may have a working solution, and I would encourage him/her to share it. As a general rule in computing, back up your files and back them up often. In some cases this may prove to be impractical, but still recommend it to those who can do it. :-) |
