Default uninstallation

So I uninstalled Limewire (4.9.37) using the Add/Remove programs. There was still a Limewire shortcut button on my screen so i clicked on it and clicked "restore" and it came back up! I was like wtf! bc i just uninstalled it.

So i reinstalled Limewire and went to Start>Programs>Limewire>uninstall. And it said I successfully uninstalled Limewire. BUT the same shortcut was still there and when i clicked "restore" it restored! what the heck? i just uninstalled it but yet it still opens on my computer. i am soo worried. i searched for Limewire files and deleted all i could but im still worried its on my computer!

Sound like you have a virus lurking in your computer that cause to LimeWire to reinstall after you uninstall LimeWire. Scan your computer for viruses

Default uninstalling LW

So i uninstalled Limewire (4.9.37--the latest version) by going to Add/Remove Programs. It said it uninstalled. But there was still the limewire shortcut on my screen (those small icons at the bottom of the page). i clicked on it and it opened up limewire again! even after i uninstalled it!!!
I exited the icon and it disappeared but does that mean i uninstalled limewire or not?

Also, i reinstalled LW and uninstalled it again, this time going to Start>Programs>Limewire>Uninstall. (the way the newer versions are supposed to be uninstalled, right?) and it did the exact same thing. the shortcut still opened up LW again!!!! even after i uninstalled it!!!!!!!!

can someone please help me?

thanks a billion

(i know i posted this in the gnutella forum but it says not to post limewire stuff there so i moved it here)

Did you eradicate the virus? As in LimeWire continually Popping up every few seconds & also Opening at System Startup, & 2. LimeWire popping up - how to eradicate it, & WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of!

I'd suggest to sort out the virus, then uninstall & reinstall LW. The LW on your system is probably affected & possibly not able to totally uninstall due to the virus. This is my guess anyway. The LW on your system, even after eradication of the virus will probably be damaged.
