tranferring files to ipod

Can someone tell me the easiest way to transfer files to my ipod folder?

Not sure how but there's an itunes setting in Limewire and I think you signup for it free and if you use that feature in Limewire you can upload and transfer the files to ipod that way. Thats my understanding of it.
