What does T1 T3 or Higher mean?
 

New - still trying to figure this all out. I searched this question but could not find an answer probalby because it's a really dumb question but when I am searching for a song some of them say T1 or T3 or cable/dsl.
I have a cable connection. Does that mean I can only download a song that says cable? What will happen if I download a song that says T3 or higher? - Moe

Thanks for all the links. I read them all. Most were a bit over my head. What I got out of it is the T1 T3 listing applies to the person who has uploaded the music. Is that right? So as long as I have my speed set to Cable it doesn't matter which one I pick? Just checking to make sure I've got it right.

Any speeds can be uploading or downlding. When you downld a file & there's more than one source, then you might be downlding from a combination of hosts using different speed settings such as T1 or modem or cable. Sometimes downlding from a modem user can be faster than T1 or T3 because the T1/3 has used most of their bandwidth uplding to others or is just being miserly. So it really depends. Everybody shares files no matter what speed they have. Remember, you're downlding from people like yourself, not from a server. You might be downlding from your next door neighbour or someone across the other side of the world or a combination.
