display artist song list

In ITunes, I am wondering if there is a way to select several songs (for example all songs from artist x) then open or display them in a separate window. But the main goal being to organize them in alphabetical order. Is there any way to do this.

Click the top of the artist column & that will arrange all songs via artist alphabetically. That's the way I have them organised. Occasionally using the Date Added column to double-check new additions. BTW check artists spellings. Some people don't spell artist names correctly or leave out The or something like that.

LOTR what I was after is

I want to be able to show ONLY the selected songs in totally separate self contained list or window. So basically select all the songs then have them open up in a separate window and be arranged alphabetically. Make sense?

Hey what mean this BTW?

Thanks

BTW = by the way

Well you can create playlists within iTunes. You can create Smart playlists which automatically puts artist songs into the list depending upon the criteria you set. The criteria might be album or date or period of time or ...
I find smart playlists very handy.
iTunes has a mini player I believe but I've never used it or know how to use it. Or perhaps I'm getting confused with a 3rd party addition.

I'm not sure why you mentioned that LOTR:) Nor do I quite understand. Yesterday I discovered .. (after HOW long:):) that by pressing the green button on the title bar (in Mac OSX) that iTunes minimises and leaves only the iTunes mini player which stays on top of all other windows

BTW to create just a normal playlist, use control + N, & then just drag & drop the songs you want into the playlist from the library. Then click on the playlist to see just the playlist. It sounds to me that's what you're looking for. Within the playlist you can arrange however you desire.

Only A Hobo I wasn't sure if I was getting confused with another 3rd party program I installed. Actually I don't like it & 2-3 times of use was more than enough. It simply extends iTunes player options .... but it's a mac addition not windows. There's others for windows I believe. Find them at the iPod/iTunes forum.
