Ghost downloads?

Right now my Limewire says I'm downloading 4@10,540 kbps and uploading 0@200kbps, whereas I'm really only downloading 4@about 40kbps and 0@0kbps. Why is it showing these rates that aren't accurate. It started about a week ago and my computer is soooooooo slow now.

1stly, kbps = kilo bits per second. Whereas LW shows its downlds using KB/s = Kilo Bytes per second. There's 8 bits in a byte.

10,540/8=1317 ... divided by 4 downlds = 329.375 so chances are your reading of the decimal location are incorrect. It is probably closer to 33 KB/s Perhaps I'm wrong & it's a new bug with the program. Just a thought anyway.

As for uploads, if there's nothing listed in your monitor window as uploading, then it is probably due to you sharing partial downlded files.
One way to check is go to your LW Library window, click on either or both your shared & incomplete folders & see the column to the far right which says uploads. That will show if any files have been uploaded. You can also check using the stats. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Statistics.

Thanks for the reply. As for the uploading, I don't have partial sharing enable and right now it's at 0@2,855KB/s. All of my downloads are at 0KB/s but it says I'm doing 5@94,604KB/s. Is it some kind of bug that's doing this? How can I fix it?

Have you checked your monitor window to see if anyone is uploading from you? The only other possibility I can think of is that you're in Ultrapeer mode. Gads if only I could be an ultrapeer! lol :D

But if you're not in UP mode & not uploading then it's obviously a bug that's crept in overnight. http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoti.../happy/028.gif
But UP mode would explain it! ;)

I did see that I was an Ultrapeer yesterday so I disabled it and then it said something about leaf mode under connections. It didn't change much for me. How do I turn that crap off and make it work the same as before?
