Accidently deleted files, able to restore?

Small problem. My brother was trying to delete incomplete files and he thinks he accidently deleted about 400 regular full songs. He told me he went to the library and under saved files, he highlighted a bunch of the songs, and pressed delete, not realizing those were not the incomplete songs. Are these songs still somehwere on the computer or did he delete these off the computer forever?

ouch--I'm afraid LW's DELETE button is permanent.

Some people report using undelete or restore utilities, but haven't heard of much success that way.

But all the same, you can try these:
* PC Inspector File Recovery (click on link) Or Norton Utilities if you have it.

* Restoration (click on link)

XP users see: System restore for deleted files
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...emrestore.mspx

There has been some success using file recovery utilties, though how long after is one of the factors & whether you've been continuing to save files on the same partition.
