If you remember the last no., then you can at least try to direct connect with them. How to use Direct Connect DC is not always reliable depending on net traffic, whether you or them are firewall configured, whether you both have free upld & downld slots & bandwidth avalable. But it's worth a try.

i tried direct connect but it was not working !!:confused:

They might have gone offline (it's now 4.00 AM in New York), or one of the other possibilities I suggested above.

Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False?
If false then you're not properly configured for your firewall. Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

Good! I could only suspect one of the reasons suggested above are the reason your can't direct connect with them. Did they or your initiate the chat? If it was you, was it from a file you were downlding or from search results or upld window? If it was you who initiated the chat, then try to follow the same steps to chat with them again. But doubtful they'll be in front of their computer at this time.
You said you lost connection, perhaps they went offline which is why you lost contact with them.
