All my music files deleted
 

I just got limewire yesterday and downloaded about 50 songs, now most of them are gone off my computer. They at first went into my folder under my name, but then started going into the "saved files" folder with the little lime by it. Now all the ones in the "saved files" folder are gone after I restarted my computer. Is there a reason why this happend?

Go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link) This will open the folder up for you. So double-check if the files are there after all. The Saved files folder is simply a LW reference to your downld location. This was added since not everybody wants to share what they've downlded. The Saved Files folder is not a shared folder, purely a reference folder for most recently downlded files. The eventually move from off that list. If you're not sharing your downld folder then it won't show in the LW Library window.

The default downld location is: C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Shared

So I have to share my files in order to have them saved? I restarted my computer just now and the files are still there... Will they stay there for good or will they dissapear?

You only need to share your files if you want the "Shared" folder to appear in the LW Library window. All your new downlds once 100% completed will be moved by LW from the incomplete folder to the downld folder. You can see these in the Saved Files folder in the LW Library window. But yes, only if you share your downld folder will this folder ("Shared") continue to display in the library window. BTW the Saved Files folder that appears in the library window was introduced for those people who don't share their downld folder. So that way they can see what they've downlded. The Library window is primarily to show files that are either incomplete or being shared. That's all it means. It doesn't affect your downlds. But I hope you're sharing something. After all, this is peer to peer, ... what you are downlding is being shared by others like yourself. If nobody shared then there'd be nothing for anybody to downld. ;) lol :D
