Potential New Problem

Hi Guys

Here are several problems which seem to cascade into one big headache:

I am doing a big all day download, as I have done many times before, involving between five to ten files when the following happens:

a) There is an internet error (an Internet Error as occurred), a box pops up asking to send an error report to LW.

b) LW Pro (ver. 4.9.37) disconnect itself from the internet.

c) One or more of my downloads are aborted.

d) Trying to reconnect LW has unpredictable results, e.g. more pop-up boxes, mouse movements become erratic, etc.

e) After rebooting my PC to regain stability, LW reports that it is unable to continue my downloads.

f) All my partial downloads in my incomplete folder are now coloured red.

The above have happened three or four times so far.

I guess I am not particularly looking for an answer but I must admit that until version 4.9.37 I have never encountered "Internet Errors" and then LW disconnecting itself, while the internet connection is still live.

I believe I could follow previously given advice to cure my "disconnection" problem but I don't think that any settings I have could cause these "Internet Errors" which then cause LW to become unstable.

Maybe something the boffins at LW HQ to work on.

Likewise I got an internal error last night with LW 4.9.37 whilst it had been temporarily sitting in the tray.

Perhaps the LW team could also look at why LW 4.9 is so hyper-sensitive toward firewalls. Many people who used earlier versions of LW without issue (even without firewalls) are suddenly getting firewall issues with 4.9 & particularly 4.9.37 This is even when they don't have NAT modems/routers or have UPnP routers or have manually port forwarded.

BTW ukbobboy01 this problem is similar to yours Where have my old downloads gone?

Hypersensitivity

Cheers LOTR

You are right when you say LW's "hypersensitivity" with firewalls (and internet wobbles) seem to be causing more problems than benefits.

Hope the LW programming lads (and lasses) can put this right.
